Passion: It wasn't the nails

It wasn't the nails that held Jesus on the cross, it was His love of the Father and for humanity.

  • Fueled by love

Jesus was fueled by His love for His Father to obey Him even to death on the cross. It was the Father's love for His creation that caused Him to send His only Son to pay the penalty man owed for sin.

  • Humble love

Jesus did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being foun in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
